Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly laudable performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for the film Piano. In her early years she began acting on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. From the time she was a child she's been passionate about performing. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade pupil in a school performance. When she was in the fifth grade after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. She did not allow that to stop her. While in college, she studied drama, she moved into New York City with her goals in mind. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in a lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. As she relocated to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find films to play. The role of a supporting actress was secured for her in Swing Shift. In the last three decades she's appeared in various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
