Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is well-known for her stellar performances in movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes and awards, among them the Oscar for her movie Piano. She started her career acting as an actress both on Broadway and Off Broadway. Acting has always been her love of life. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. The mumps that she contracted left her blind and deaf in one ear, but she didn't let this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. She was a drama major at the college before moving to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her dream. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. She made the move to Los Angeles and tried to find films parts. For Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. Over the past three decades, since then she has appeared in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
